Default new guy code help

Hey guys I am new to diesels. Just got my first one this weekend. 2003 f250 superduty. It has a ID sct tunner, 4 inch turbo back, EGR delete, AFE magnum force intake. Still on head bolts. My problems are on first start up of the day crazy white smoke out exhaust smells like fuel. after a few minutes it surges until I tap throttle then settles in. Power is good runs smooth. I have three codes a p0603,p0683, and p0148. I did notice the battery terminals are nasty. Can you guys give me an idea where to start? I am mechanically inclined have built gas engines and trannys before never messed with a diesel before. Thanks

P0148 is a fuel delivery error
P0603 is a Keep Alive Memory (KAM) error
P0683 is a glow plug modual to pcm communication error.

Do a kam erase and relearn to start with....maybe someone else can chime in?

I cleaned battery terminals then cleared codes, now only code is p0683 glow plug to pcm. How do I test the glow plug control module?
