I've spent the last 24 hrs stranded with this truck. Have read everything I can get my hands on as well. New to this truck and diesels. Left from Wyoming heading to Virginia towing. Great power and throttle response. Horrible mpg. No smoke, black or white.Truck ran flawless until last night after 1750 straight miles. Now truck is blowing white smoke heavy. No power when shifted into gear and will stall out after only a few minutes trying to drive it. Pulled egr and cleaned it. Wasn't hardly dirty In the first place. Reinstalled it only to find same issue as stated above. Checked ficm and have 48.5ish volts on all three test levels. Key off. Key cranking. Running. Removed icp plug to find the idle got slow and lumpy. Smoothed out a little when plugged back in. Last night we found the upper turbo silicon sleeve had some cracks and patched that up best we could. Ran better but only for a few minutes then stalled and died. Pulled air cleaner tube off to check turbos. I thought I lost turbo power. Small turbo was clean and spooled while idling. Don't want to take the larger rear off. When truck is driving it still shows 20 psi or better on dash. Found that the rear clamp on the larger turbo was loose and leaking and tightened that. No change. Lots of white smoke and it burns eyes. Too much fuel? Maybe that's why horrible mpg? Had a check engine light come on about 300 miles into the trip but truck still ran flawless. Last night I unplugged the batteries and reset it and now no lights. Scanner only came back with water in the fuel. Nothing else. When I removed the egr the manifold wasn't wet so no coolant is sneaking by. I'm at a lost. Seems lIke maybe injectors are dropping? I don't know now. Would a biodiesel blend cause any issues. A couple of the stops only had the blend. At this point I'm going to try some injector cleaner. Not sure how well it will work since the truck won't drive only idle.
