I have a 2004 f250 I recently purchased with 150k yesterday while driving it I noticed it sounded like turbo would wind up then off then again as automatic trans was shifting it seemed like it would lose power briefly then it would be back but continually here turbo whistle and then off then back on .sounds like I hear a lot of air sucking .this is my first powerstroke anyone have any ideas before I take it to a shop

I'm new here, but you could look at the boots from the intercooler to the turbo. Two boots, wiggle the pipe and look for tears. Mine felt like I was losing 50% power when accelerating uphill. Made all kinds of noise. Bought new hose (upper in my case) from Ford dealer. Hope this helps
