I have had this truck for about 6 months. It was under 100k when I got it.
I went on a small trip towing my Jeep and atv, all went well. When I got home I unloaded the truck and the trailer, I then decided to park the trailer but the truck wouldn't start. It turned over just wouldn't start.
(I am in FL and it was freezing the night if camping.)
The next afternoon I tried to start and all seems OK. ???

I don't want to get stranded somewhere. I plan to take it in, but if it's fine now don't want to waste money.

 

when the truck usually does the hot no start it is a sign of a hpop leak.you have an 05 so that means it could be a number of things.it could be your dummy plugs oil stand tubes or stc fitting,top o ring on an injector or trash in the ipr and o rings in the hpo rail.i'm gonna bet it's the orings in the top of one of the injectors or in the hpo rail.

It hasn't done it since. I took it to the shop, he ran the codes and looked things over and couldn't tell me for sure, it could be many things (if I wanted to pay him I'm sure he could find something to replace). I don't mind replacing what needs to be replaced but I don't want to just throw parts at it. I'll see what happens and update if something does.

 

well you have to ask yourself is it gonna be worth it when it leaves you stranded in the middle of no where no cell service and in a blizard.i will tell you this from experience all your tests are passing.but what he can't see is the condition of the o rings and that's what it's gonna be.does the truck have all the up dates done to it.
