Question 05 stalls/ no start

a friends 05 6.0 after about 30 minutes or so it will just die like shut the key off, it won't start, even with icp unplugged, no smoke what so ever, let sit for an hour it will fire up, and will run with icp unplugged. any ideas...

Classic High Pressure Oil leak, most likely the STC fitting on HPOP but it is best to update the standpipes and dummy plugs at same time.

yes, and it's most like just the $50 part on the HPOP, the factor STC/ snap to connect/ fitting will fail on just about every truck, normally around 140k or so. they have a new part that is one piece instead of 2 so it won't fail in the future

05-07's have a different HPOP than earlier models. This new HPOP has a much, much lower failure rate.

I have an 06 built in 05. I fixed my STC fitting and did the stand pipes and dummy plugs at about 75,000 miles. I thought about doing my HPOP when I was in there, but decided not to and I'm glad I didn't do it. It still runs great at 116,000 miles.

the fact that it will run till it gets warmed up tells me it is not the pump, when the oil gets hot it leaks out of the bad fitting easier.
