I can honestly say that i love my 05 6.0 better than i did my 99 7.3. Cheap way to get 425 horse and the truck is just fun to drive. But I would probably stay away from the 03&04 trucks.

boy is it funny how different people thing different things...... a friend of mine work for ford as well and says the 6.0`s are junk that a 7.3 is a much better engine..before i bought my first cummins i drove a....
04-6.0
01-7.3
02 d-max
04 cummins
01 cummins
IMO the 6.0 was a turd the 7.3 felt like it had more go. the 01 cummins was equal to the 7.3 and the dmax was on top. i was planning on buying a dmax but i could not find one i could afford. so that left me with either a 7.3 or a cummmins....and i think it is obvious which one i bought....like what was said earlier they are all good trucks in there own way and they are all junk in there own way....

I have a 6.0 for my work truck and seem to like it. Everyonce in a while going up hills it smokes a bit (dunno why, didn't do it before), other than that its a solid truck. Trans is acting funny too.

We have 2 6.0's at work......

'03 F350 6.0- Thought the first turbo was so delicious it ate another one (2 turbos total) and various other problems.......

'05 F450 6.0- Had some EGR valve problems, Torq shift not shifting properly and major slip while plowing. 4.88 tears suck major doo doo. Engine just screams and seem to have no power loaded/unloaded. Taching at 2500-3000= rpms cruising up the interstate everyday has to lay a beating on this engine.......

You couldn't pay me to own a 6.0, or a new 6.4. Ive seen too many things go wrong with the 6.0, and with the 6.4's new flamethrower option, and the recall, its no wonder I bought a dodge. Ford thinks thier trucks are made of gold, as does GM.. I got my Dodge with a cummins for 5k less than any GM or Ford dealer would give me. I really really like the looks of the 03-07 Fords, but the motors are scary. Ive got 4 friends with the powerstroke, and they have all been in the dealership more than on the road.

I got a 6.0 and I love it considering it’s my first diesel truck. But I am complaning on a few things right now. I am not sure if I need a valve body and torque converter. I know everything is electronic and the edge box can take care of it but I am not to sure if I need that stuff
