dead battery every year
I have a 2005 ford f250 I have owned for 3 years now. Every year as the temperature drops I have to replace both batterys. It don't get very cold like mid 40 it starts. It was 52 this morning when I went to crank it took forever. Is there something else that I should look at? All year it dose great till it gets cold. It had Walmart everstarts in it when I bought it so I have gone to Walmart every year for a new set. Is it just crap battery?
I would bet the alternator is not up to it, it should be putting out 14.2 to 14.7 volts, a lot of times when they start to go bad they will only put out 13volts which is enough to keep you going but realy not enough to give the batteries a good charge, especially in the colder months.
Well I have only been getting about 13.5 out of it. Guess its time for a new one. I watch it on my sct .
