whats a good turbo?? help please.

I have a 2006 Ford F250 XLT 4x4.

i have done some upgrades and was wondering whats a good turbo to go with. here a list of what ive done.

blue spring.

Fass System (non sure what one)

155cc injectors on stock nozzles

ARP Head Studs

Sinister Diesel EGR Delete

5 inch MBRP Turbo back exhaust.

and a SCT Livewire tuner.

Depends on your goals. A Pmax with a single bladed compressor wheels would be a GREAT add-on to the injectors. You could have the stocker modded to help. Depends on the money you want to spend as well.

What is the single bladed compressor wheel?

powermax is a nice upgrade... you can sell your stock turbo too because there is no core.

Pics to explain the different compressor wheels:

These are just an example. There are several variations out there for just about any turbo.

I rebuilt an early 03 stock turbo. $100 for a kit and then threw on a wicked wheel2 $200. I went the extra mile and had it balanced. It was dead nuts so I only got charged $50. $350 turbo pushing 40psi

I was thinking about doing that 6.0 lover2! Thanks for feedback! Sounds like that would be a good step up over stock on a budget. I was wondering where you got rebuild kit? I hear there are different thrust washers available. 270 degree vs 360 degree washer?

I got the 360 from pureturbo.com and I went straight to dieselsite.com for the wheel

I also got a thread that shows what the guts to the turbo looks like if you're nervous. Easy as heck though

I am in the market for a turbo as well, I have been looking at the MTW stage 1 turbo, it's perfect for stock to 155 sticks. It's also supposed to flow about the same as a pmax and spool faster than stock. Plus there only 850$ with a billet wheel.

HeavyAssault 12-29-2013 05:07 AM

Since MTW is a rebuild you take your chances. A Pmax with a billet wheel will perform the same, since it's a new turbo it's does cost a little more.

The amount of PSI you read doesn't mean anything with regard to airflow which is more important.
