Default Stiction problem or Injector

I recently bought a 2006 F350 6.0. I knew what I was getting into but love the truck. Already deleted the EGR and minor tune. Regardless of how long I drive my truck or let it warm up when I get on the gas it always wants to hesitate or bog down almost like its not getting enough gas. My buddy has a 6.0 and he was thinking stiction issues. I put seafoam in the oil and at times you can notice a difference but still when getting on the gas the truck doesn't want to take off. Is there any fix for this other than trying another additive or am I going to have to replace the injectors.

I haven't tried it yet. From what I read it seemed to be getting a 50/50 success rate. I just read where ford flashed some ficm's but of course no one at the dealer or ford can tell me if this was done to my truck.

If it's just a bog check for ficm updates. If you have a stuttering like you are on very bumpy road then I would suspect stiction issues. If everything else checks out ok try an update and a mild tune. I got a power hungry 40 hp ficm tune and mine runs like gas truck now. . Almost instant throttle response. . . . Thanks ed!

Is SeaFoam safe for diesel engine oil? Which oil do you use? Have you had the codes read? Before trying bandaids try finding the true cause of the problem. Don't throw parts at it because that can get expensive real quick (esp injectors). I would check for codes then check FICM voltage. Both of those coupled with EGR valve (which you removed) are also common causes of drivability problems alongside stiction.
What type of tune do you have? I had cold start issues and after reading the forums thought I had stiction I tried Archoil fuel and oil additives and it did improve the startup I still had problems. It turned out it was 4 bad injectors, oil/exhaust leaks and a weak turbo (chipped vane) among other things. On a side note most try Archoil or RevX for stiction instead of SeaFoam. There are many threads and videos on youtube showing improvements form those with stiction. Hope this helps

If you have determined stiction issue or maintenance wasn't always well done, try hot shot secret. It helps to clean inside your motor and is safe in your oil. I'm hearing sea foam really isn't good for diesels but it is good cleaner. Hot shot was supposedly designed by company for international to help with stiction issues. Then use Rev-x with your oil change and you should eliminate stiction.

Seafoam is safe for diesels. That have a a extensive website about. I just put two quarts in after an oil change. They actually recommend to add before your oil change. But if during replace your oil when it looks dirty . I have about 1500 on it and I am dumping it tomorrow for mobil 1 synthetic 5w40. It was only 23.00 a gal at walmart. I thought I would treat it, also gong to add HSS, and friction eliminator.

At sea foam they also said and I plan on doing and will let you all know. Is two our it straight into the top engine filter bowl. That it can run on straight sea foam without problems and will give a extensive cleaning.

Back to the original post. Is it a lag? if so could be underboost at the turbo caused by veins s sticking from rust and soot.

Also I had a litle similar but was a bunch of things, I replaced my fuel filters and truck ran like a whip. They only had about 13,000 on it. But I was using detergents and cleaners all the time that year due some issues. I also used a shop vac for the first time to suck out the bowl. Don't know if that was the trick. But I am fro know on using a shop back to suck out the bowl. Also before I change to the new oring i am going to run straight sea foam then.

i think if it were the injectors it would be bucking or misfiring some kind of backfire due to improper firing. My truck ran great but when you mashed it to pass, sometimes it took a second, sometimes 1, sometimes 2. But it then eventually took off like a turbo. When the turbo was cracked open the unison disc was frozen. VClean all the veins and housings Everything moved real nice just like it is supposed to. After that just like brand new.

I have a utility body on mine and I love to at a light. For a utility body I can give almost anyone a run for their money

I agree with the fuel filter change. Depending where your located, but I almost have to change mine with every oil change. Not all fuel is clean out of the pump. Proven fact.

I will probably start doing the same. 50 bucks for filters, sure beats being stuck and maybe having to replace injectors.
