The oil build up is not from over time it's like it all blew out within a few miles. I was wondering about my hpop as well considering its location and the fact it did this same thing when my icp sensor went out.(blew the seal) my ipr sensor is not missing nor is it covered in oil.

I can't really search for an oil leak because the truck no longer starts. I guess I'm trying to figure where to start looking so I can get it running and figure out the major issue. I'm assuming at this point I should probably remove the turbo and check it and my hpop, does anyone know what/where/how to check and see if my hpop is the problem?
I appreciate the replies guys, this whole thing is starting to get very stressful

I'm starting to think the power loss and smoking is a separate issue from what stopped my truck from running. I'm leaning towards sticky vanes in my turbo and my egr going out for my daily problems and maybe my hpop blew causing my truck to quit running.


As bad as that oil leak is just make sure the engine is topped of with oil and get someone to crank it over while you look for the leak.

Compare desired vs actual on ICP pressure on solus. . .if you don't have oil pressure on actual graph you need to fix that first, then other issue can be addressed if need be. If you are pulling turbo to do pump you can see what's going on in there

There's no way to measure that stuff without a computer though correct?

I believe the leak is my hpop. I'm Savin up some extra money at the moment to replace that and rebuild my turbo, do an egr delete. Hopefully that will solve the majority of my problems. I'm about to park this truck til I can do a cummins swap anyways, it's been givin me alot of greif. I don't think the previous owner took care of this truck at all.

If you address some issues, the stock motor can be really good and a LOT cheaper than swap. . . New hpop, new oil cooler, egr delete and coolant flush and you should be pretty good shape!

The swap has been the plan since before I bought the truck. Ill rebuild the 6.0l and put it In something else eventually.

One of the fun things with these trucks is what combo you like and are willing to make happen. I always was hoping ford would make it easy and just strike a deal with cummins but I'm liking the new ford built 6.7 too! If you do find issue, keep us posted, of not good luck with swap!

So finally got to look at the truck today and it seems I have no low oil pressure and no visible leak around my hpop.

So where should I start looking for low pressure problems??

I would say the oil pump has took a dump. I know it's a problem on these engines.

So is there anyway to be sure my pump is done before I tear into it?
