no your good most people say dont add them after you oil has 1000 miles or more rev x is pricey 60,70 bucks for 8oz but it really does work well for whay your daying about your truck my truck did the same thing it sounded like the motor was goin come through the hood in the morning and if you tried to drive it before it warmed up it had no power wont shift blew clouds of blue smoke it doesn't do any of that after using rev x
