mad a/c system

so my a/c compressor seized up on my truck and snapped my belt so I changed my a/c compressor and now when I try to fill it up with Freon (looks like a valve stem coming off the block that bolt to the a/c pump.) when I put roughly 40psi according to the gauge on the filler pump it shoots out of the block towards my starter... does anybody know why it's doing this and how to fix it?? any help would be great guys....

Did you find out why the A/C compressor seized?
Could it be because you had an A/C hose that sprung a leak and all the freon (and oil) escaped...and now that you put the new compressor on it's leaking as well?

the bearings got dry and it seized up, just old is all, all the Freon was released when I took it to a friends garage to drain it.
