6.0 long crank then runs great
Hey there, I got a 6.0 with brand new 175cc injectors and oil cooler. We just put them in.
The thing is, it cranks for 2-4 times then when it fires it runs smooth as silk. No chugging at all but if you turn it off and wait about a minute it needs to be cranked again.
If you turn it on after, say 3 cranks, and back off and turn it right back on it will fire in about 3 seconds. Not needing to be cranked again.
We put new filters on too. It's like it losing fuel, or pressure. Oh and we noticed it would lower the rpms right before it would fire up. It sounds like its about to die then it starts up.
Any ideas? Thanks.

Agreed, the shop man says run it at 3000rpm for 3 minutes but I refuse to run a diesel like that with no load on it, take it for a 20 mile trip and run it kind of hard, don't overdo it though, to help purge the air out of system, it gets noticably smoother and quicker responding as you go.
