thanks for all the help guys. when you say check the high side do you mean hook up at the ICP port or somewhere different. also do i have to mess with the IRP any? i seen where a guy hooked to his IRP and while he did his air test he opened and closed his IRP.

you can hook to icp port to check, youll need to engergize the ipr so it will allow system to build pressure so you can check for leaks. you can do a quick check with valve cover still in place but more than likely youll be pulling it off at some point.

i have a no hot start issue with my 05 f350 and so far i have completed the driver side standpipe and dummy plug and they both looked to be in decent shape......the standpipe came out in 2 pieces so i had to pull the rail to get the lower half out. not looking forward to doing the passenger side, especially if they look like the ones that came out of the driver side. supposedly the stc has been updated.....not sure if its worth digging into it to see if it has or if there is a way to tell as it sits. Maybe someone knows of another reason for a no hot start......perhaps a clogged ipr screen or something..... the previous owner supposedly replaced the hpop ipr icp and a couple other sensors that i cant think of at this moment..... then the other day i was just pulling into the driveway and the no oil pressure notice on the lie o meter came on and i looked at the oil pressure gauge and sure enough it agreed.....although the engine never died or acted any different....the oil pressure switch sensor has oil on the wire and sensor.....my guess is drips from the oil filter changes.... but it is wet with oil....not sure if that's cause for concern or not.....i had heard that there was a test port near the oil filter but i was unable to locate it. can any one describe where it is? sorry if this is wordy.....just trying to throw plenty of info out there..... also the other day the battery light flickered at me for a minute right after i started it head lights were on..... brand new batteries....i had read somewhere that people with similar issues were reffered to a bad connection on the gauge housing somewhere.......lets see what yall think

usually on a hot no start I find the pass side rail plug orings shot. You would be better off doing a air pressure test on the high side system to locate your leak. The low oil light could be a tell tale of the hpop going out but, usually only see that on the early styles. Make sure and check that oil press. sensor, they can go bad and start pouring oil out of the center. If its wet like you say Id unplug it and look down in the sensor connector and see if its got any oil in it. When they fully let go it can make a huge mess and you may be several miles from home.

OK thanks for the reply..... The guy I bought it from said he replaced the hop.... he squired the pick up as a result of a no start..... And he said he replaced the hpop as part of the fix.... any idea on the location of the oil pressure test port....I bought a manual gauge and would like to hook it up permanently

there is a port on the cooler housing that you really cant get to for low press. system. I always remove the oil press. sensor and test there. Ive seen where either someone forgot to tighten the hpop bolts or they back out and cause some problems. Once you do a pressure check on the high side youll be able to see whats goin better.

Yeah I have read somewhere that not torquing the hpop properly can cause this..... I intend to do an air test if the passenger side comes back good but the previous owner said he did all the other stuff so naturally I assumed dummy plugs and standpipes

shouldn't be, ive tightened them back down before and let em roll. no more probs.

Also 1 other question slightly off topic... When I pulled the air filter tube there was a little bit of oil present in the turbo...... Is this sign that my turbo is soon to fail

Update

Well I just dove into the passenger side and the standpipe and dummy plug have already been done...... So I guess I'm headed to the hpop now

:-(
