Default What coolant temp is normal?

I hooked up the livewire TS the other day, and set up some gauges including coolant temp and oil temp. My coolant temperature maxed out at 174 to 176 (cruising on highway at 70 mph) and my oil temp was 192 to 194. This is almost a 20F spread, but the coolant temp seemed low, so I wasn't sure if it was reading correctly. I already have a new oil cooler to put in, just wondering if I need a new thermostate or a new coolant temperature sensor, or if those coolant temps are normal.

Thanks,

Keith

The coolant temp should be right around 190, it helps with power and fuel mileage, the spread is too much so it is good you have a new oil cooler ready to go in, add a coolant filter so you don't have a clogged cooler again. I believe you need a new thermostat, these trucks get best mileage when run right at 190deg.

Yup, have the oil cooler and coolant filter sitting in the shop ready to be installed, along with my 4" catless exhaust, new fuel filters, and EGR delete Just needed to know if I needed a thermostate as well. Thanks I assume I can get the correct T-state from my local Ford dealership.

Seems like a bad coolant temp sensor could save you a lot of un-needed work.
Not saying that's the problem, however, a coolant temp sensor that reads 20 degrees low could explain a lot (the 2nd clue is oil temp = 190, which is right in there where it should be).
