stock tire and wheel weight
Just wondering if anyone has weighed the various stock tire and wheel combinations to see what they come in at. I know that a taller tire will give lower RPM's per MPH and if they weighed the same should improve fuel economy... but most aftermarket tire and wheel setups are substantially wider adding a lot more weight and actually end up lowering fuel economy. That is why I specified the STOCK wheel and tire packages
If nobody has the data, I have stock size 265/70/17's on my truck with a 275/70/18 spare tire under the bed (gotta get that replaced) and can weigh them myself. The 265's are not new though, no idea how much weight tires loose from tread loss over time, and I don't have access to the 275/65/20 to weigh them.
Later,
Keith
