Default EGR Turn off???

ok so I have a 2007 f250, I purchased a SCT programmer which is helping out a lot.
but looking threw I found that I can turn off my EGR though I have heard of this being down is a good idea to do or not and by doing so what all does it actually do (besides turn off the EGR) what risk come about with doing this.

my truck is stock out side of 4 inch mbrp exhaust but I will but installing blue spring kit shortly and cold air intake

Deleting the egr is one of the most important things to do on these trucks, there is only positive results from getting rid of it. The other important thing to do and most important is to put a coolant filter on them.

Yes it helps but deleting it is still the best, the key is to keep the hot exhaust gasses from flowing through the egr cooler into the intake.

You can "try" to shut it off with the programmer, it will take the operation duty cycle from 100% on to like 90% off. However, as long as there is exhaust flowing through the EGR cooler to the EGR valve, it can be blown open and still cause issues. The key here is if you do a full delete, you have the tuner to keep the check engine light off.
