Now that I have my beat off work style cab. The idea struck me it wouldn't be so hard to drop a lariat less beat up cab in it's spot.

Will newer stuff work? like 06? Would I need a new wiring harness?

Where are these cabs hiding?

 

The wiring is different between the same years even. An 06 XL truck will have a completely different harness than an 06 XLT and up cab etc. You could probalby use a cab, like a bare cab, but I wouldn't count on most of the electronics working. You could probably do some seat swaps and put a carpet in etc easier than just doing an entire cab.

 

check out Baltmore craigslist, look under auto parts, listing for f250or350, guy is in Westminster, he parts out trucks and he had a couple nice cabs.
