ATTN 05 F350 SRW side mirror (marker)assembly removal

Please forgive me but I'm a newbie PSD owner and I was wondering if anyone knew how to take the stock side mirror light/signal assembly off and replace it with the recon smoked alternative. I'm sure its pretty straight foreward but I'd rather ask the "stupid" questions now instead of breaking something I shouldent have because I thought I knew it all. Thanks for your time guys.....

Yeah I did this a while back, I remember it being a PITA. I need to do it again as my passenger side recon marker is dead now... not sure what happened there. The whole mirror cover has to come off, use a putty knife or something and start at a corner and slowly and carefully pry around the entire edge, it will just pop off. I know mine felt like it was going to break when I was doing it, never really got comfortable doing it, but it didn't break.

Use a long flat tip screwdriver. The cover on the mirror is what will come off. Small tabs seen behind the mirror glass will be pryed loose. Just be careful and it's an easy 10 minute job. Once the cover is off disconnect the wires to the turn lens. BE VERY CARFUL removing the light assembly. The tabs will flex but don't over do it.

never done it but I would only attempt if it was warm, in cold weather I would think the plastic would snap rather then flex

The cover tabs are fairly easy...the light tabs are another story.
