Heat not blowing hot air after 10 min of idle
I have been noticing that if my truck idles for more than 8 min or so it starts blowing cool air. Once i step on the throttle it gets hot. Is that normal? Is something sticking? It has been about 20 degrees here and a little colder at night. Come out and expect a nice warm truck and its not that warm. The temp gauge shows it at running temp. Any ideas or suggestions would be great!
Low on coolant, when you put coolant in always make sure the heat is on. Also check the little vacuum line that goes to the heat valve, it will be just behind the alternator on the 3/4 heater hose, the vacuum line gets knocked off all the time if you are putting your hand anywere near the turbo, the line will also be pretty close to the oil fill tube.
I checked my valve and it was all good. I also added coolant and changed out my radiator cap since they are prone to failure. Next i was goin to try putting a piece of cardboard in front of radiator and see what happens. Let me know your findings as well.
