Which is better, egr delete or the bulletproof cooler?

Given that I picked up throttle response with an EGR delete, I think that was the better option.

Both are far superior to stock. Obviously with it deleted you've got NOTHING to worry about, but the bulletproof unit is really nice if you live in a state where they do visual inspections (you're in TX, so I doubt it...).

The oil cooler is the one you want to keep an eye on...

Truck heavy state like TX if it's emissions checked the tech may know what to look for. A "sneaky" pipe would work wonders for the visual. It doesn't help the EGR cooler issue for a long term solution.

Given it is Texas I think the attitude would be delete that POS EGR system and be happy.

i welded mine shut. so if i go to sell it to a dealer or whatever it looks like its there but really its been deleted

i noticed more throttle awsell i agree with curry delete that sum *****

Same here. Biggest improvement that Karl and I both noticed is that when you pull into your driveway or somewhere after a long drive, and are waiting for EGT's to come down under 400*, it peels temps off way faster. I used to wait a while for it to drop now it seems to come down real quick.

Agreed, if it is leaking coolant, replace it, delete it, but don't cap/weld it. While the cap/weld will reap the other benefits, that leak is still there, ticking away.

Yes, my EGTs do fall off quicker, MUCH quicker when I am on the loud pedal.

From what I understand, if the ends are welded, and the cooler does fail, it just fills up with coolant and that's it... nothing else happens. It's not a large volume in there so you only lose a tiny amount of coolant. Myself, I'm too OCD for that, and it would bother me knowing it might be in there...
