Question Programers???

I want to buy programers for my 06 450 & 04 550. Any ideals on whats best and what to avoid? Looking to get better towing power and better mpg haha. Anyone have a used one for sale?

stay away from hypertech, please. i have had so much headaches caused from this dam programmer. i suggest sct and so do a lot of people

SCT with custom tunes only. You're going to need one programmer for each truck as they vin lock.

I'd highly suggest calling up Eric @ Innovative Diesel and telling him what trucks you have and how they get used. He can set you up with some sweet tow tunes and tune your trans for better towing as well (just assuming that's what you're doing with an F450 and an F550).

If you plan on buying used, please read this.

If you can find a used SCT for under $250, you'll spend about $100 for 3 custom tunes. That puts you at $350.


Just remember, you can buy a new SCT X3 with custom tunes included for $425-$429.

Thanks for the advice, talked to Eric to day and now have programers on the way.

Are you able to use the SCTs for monitoring guages also or will you need something else for that also?

Depends which model you get, the livewire or the livewire TS are both capable. I really like the livewire TS myself. They also have the iTsx or something along those lines that you can monitor using an ipod or itouch or something.
