Default o'riley battery warrenty

so a few months after i bought the truck i found that the batteries are shot and still under warrenty. i called o'riley and they told me since i didnt presonally buy them, the person i bought the truck from did, and its been sold since they bought them they cant replace them. does any one know how the warranty system works. is it a dont ask dont tell kinda deal?

That's how it usually works, the warranty is for the original purchaser. Do you have the receipt for them? I'd just go in and play it off like you bought them. Or what if you just went in there and played it off like it's your buddies truck (the original purchaser) and he just sent you to get him batteries since his truck wont start...

i tried the budy trick at autozone one time they didnt buy it. usualle the dont ask dont tell policy works just say you bought them and lost the reciept and as long as the dots on the top poped out and its in warranty period then you shouldnt have an issue i worked at a place that sold car batterys for years as long as its in the period and you say you bought them no problem usually unless you got a ***** that your dealing with

sounds like i know what this guys doin after work today . would bad batters couse a really strange idle. it was almost like half the cylinders were missing. and i also got a battery light. i was driving and all of a sudden out of the blue it idle's like poo. but the turbo response and throttle responds was bad ***. im a little confused. ususly rough idle and good performance dont go together

Yes, weak batteries will make these trucks do all sorts of odd things. Rough idles, poor running, poor shifting etc...

Dont rule out bad ground connections. Its a good idea to clean all ground connections, chassis, body and motor ground connections, when doing a battery job. Its good piece of mind.
