Default what the crap. please help.

Just bought new ficm. Still sitting at dealer. Im not getting that normal buzz when the key is first turned on and it is not wsnting to fire up. My old ficm was a 7 pin amd they gave me a 4 pin. they said there wouldnt be any problems. Any suggestions? Its an 03 fx4 137,000 miles, last 8 months ive done, 3 injectors, 2 batteries, hpop, icp, ipr. Im lost.

Well i just got her to fire when the motor was a little over the cold line. only mod is a 5" straight pipe

Ok now. Update is she took forever to start. But once it did, i had to blow all the smoke out of her. All the misfires mustve had excessive fuel built up. But after running her, she runs like a champ again. If your gonna stroke it, POWERSTROKE it. Lol

Ok well, she was running great. But still apparently a hot no start condition.

Hot start problem is related to the oil system...standpipes, dummy plugs, STC fitting, IPR. Standpipes and dummy plugs are easy, right under the valve covers, STC and IPR on the other hand are a bit more of a pain in the ***.

I just did the ipr, icp and hpop about 4 months ago. They should be good. But mines an 03 and they dont have STC fitting on these years.

It's not too bad to do. What tends to happen is over time the o-rings on them get old and leak (reason it's only a hot-start issue is because when the engine is cold the oil is thick enough to not leak, but when it thins out you get problems)

I'd be trying to monitor ICP actual and ICP desired before diving in, the earlier trucks didn't have near the issues with high pressure oil leaks. HPOP's seem to die a little more often and a little more suddenly, but if it was dead it wouldn't have started.

Are you sure you're getting a good charge to your batteries?

You can use any year FICM on any year 6.0, 4 pin or 7 pin, doesn't matter. They don't sell 7 pins anymore though, they're all the newer 4 pins.

Ok. Well i did the icp, ipr and hpop about 4 months ago. So it might be time to do the stand pipes anyways just to get the updated ones in. It starts just fine when the needle is about 1/4 warm. But over that and its a fight.
