Default 2006 F350 6.0 Blown ECM Fuse

First off I would like to say thanks for everybodys help I have searched quite a few issues and have had alot of sucesfull advice from alot of people in the comunity and decided I had better go ahead and sign up.

So to the point I blew a fuse for the ECM on my 2006 F350 6.0 the other day and had the truck towed to the Dealer not knowing what was going on So they changed the fuse and now I am up and running again. BUT, I am running a SCT Programer and could not reset the tune to stock before sending the truck to the shop. Now I have a Tuner that wont program my truck. I cant get ahold of anyone from SCT Due to the weekend and have to drive from Wyoming to Texas Sunday Morning on a stock map with about 6,000#s of cargo on my
5th weel. Does anyone have advice or no how I can reset my programmer with a download ?

I got ahold of SCT today I will be sending my SCT Livewire to them so that they can unlock it for a minimal fee of 75$ with the proof the dealer re flashed my truck. The teck for SCT said it could take up to 15 days to be returned

Damn man, sorry I'm just seeing this, can I move this to the 6.0 section for you, it will get more exposure there!

Let me research this a bit...

Also in the future, any time it goes to the dealer, always return the truck to stock. Ford will just write over your tunes and you'll lose your stock tune, or you'll get a new stock tune and you'll lose all of your tunes. Always go back to stock just to be sure.

Is there any trouble codes currently or have you had any during this process?

It was definitely the ECM, not the PCM? (I'm not sure if these are the same thing on these trucks or not honestly... I'm thinking they're one in the same).

I was Unaware it was a fuse the first time I had problems with it so I was unable to return the tune to stock no communication between them. I am waiting on the ford dealership to let me no what they find out down here in Texas the first dealership was in Wyoming and I dont think I will be dealing with them any more I got under the hood when I picked it up they had my wireing harness in shambles just dangling everywere I dont think that helped me out at all hopefully this other shop can do a little better and possibly get me back on the road At this point I have just had enough and cant afford to keep breaking down I may be in a new truck in the next day or two if nothing is found. I am borrowing a friends 2012 Dodge ram and its starting to grow on me.

Yucky rams. At least get you a 6.7 powerstroke. Awesome trucks.

I hear you though, sometimes it's just too much to handle anymore. I feel the same way everytime something goes wrong with mine. Then I remember they all have these issues....

I wouldn't touch a 6.7 cummins with a 10 ft pole myself.

Ill go test drive a new 6.7 they look like nice trucks I have yet to go for a ride or drive one. Are they pretty solid trucks? I no ford has had some issues with the front end bounce on the HD's I drive alot of dirt roads to and from work and my F350 is like riding in a tank acrost wash board and almost out of controll hitting bumps at high speeds. I have recived a notice from Ford about the issues and they recomend running high air pressures in the tires to help I run my tires at max pressures and it has helped a bit but it is Stiff and still has a bounce.

I have always been a Ford guy when it comes to trucks but I am expanding my options I looked at a 2012 Duramax yesterday the thing drives like a dream and flys down the road. I think it would give my modified ford a run for its money and maby take it on top end.

I will deffinately take a look at the 6.7 before making any decision though the chevys cab is TINY and I have two kids that have to ride back there in the uncomfortable seats, on long cross country drives with two young kids raising cain can make everyone uncomfortable I guess they could ride in the BOX LOL.

The 6.7 powerstrokes are ridiculously nice. Definitely give them a try. They wont ride as nice as the car front end on the duramax's but they'll sure hold up a lot better in the long term.

2006 F350 6.0 Blown ECM Fuse-122.jpgI contracted the Shop Friday they aparently forgot my truck was going to be towed there The FRIDAY BLUES I guess so my truck has been there about a week and just now being diagnosed with a short ( Who guessed it ) so i aproved for them to replace the wiring harness for a small fee of about 500$ in a desperate attempt the reclaim my truck. Also they tell me my coolant, and rear diff fluids are trashed as well as the transmission fluid that I had flushed 6 months ago so a totaling cost of a big fat grand and my truck might be up and running by this Friday. I sure hope so I get to go home next week for some days off sure would be nice to have a ride.

Why on earth would they even be checking all that stuff if it came in for a rough running problem? Sounds like they're just trying to get some extra $$$ off of you...
