Default Low Volts at start up?

Past few morning when I turn my key my gauge shows around 10-11 volts. Granted it has been getting fairly cold at night. Starts up easily no problems but my battery light will pop up for a few seconds, go out. Will do this about 2 times in a min or so. Volt gauge will stay around 11-12 until it warms up then stays right around 14v. Is this a sign I may have a possible problem with my battery or alt? or am I just paranoid?

Check the amp with a clamp on multimeter at the positive wire going to the alternator. At start up the amps should be in the 80's then while idling for about 10min should progressively go down and stabilize to 40's.

Well dealer wanted $299 + tax for only a 110 amp alt. Just ordered a DC Power 185 amp powder coated and shipped for $317
