That's typically a high pressure oil leak. Easiest way is to air test the system.

Yep, them 04's were great for all kinds of f-ups! That is why I no longer own one......
Constant EGR issues, Turbo Fart issues, EGR issues, Turbo leaking oil issues, HPOP issues, EGR issues. 3 turbo replacements and 5 EGR replacements in 1 1/2 years. Lemon Law got me out of it. Bought a Dodge Cummins no issues...............yet. Fords are very nice trucks for sure. I would buy another, so I could turn it into a FUMMINS. Next project!

Good luck with yours. Problems suck!

Sounds like you either drive your truck like an old lady, or leave it parked a lot. Or let it idle for absurd amounts of time. Turbo fart isn't an "issue" btw, it will do that no matter what since there is no wastegate or BOV. My guess is a $150 EGR delete, and a free "high idle mod" wire up would have saved you almost all of those issues.

I'm glad you like your cummins.

My post was aimed at Big Redd, but it should apply to every 6.0 owner. Long idle times and long periods of the truck just sitting without being used cause the turbo to stick. Clean your turbo out, you'll probably be pretty happy with the results.

What kind of parts are you looking for? For OEM stuff I use Sunrise Ford and Tousley Ford a lot, Tousley usually has the best prices.

Tousley Ford Parts Depot

For aftermarket stuff, the vendors here can give you some pretty good deals.
