Default Yet another problem, injectors?

Ok so on my way to works the other day I noticed pulling out of my driveway it didn't really have the ower it usually has but it was like 50 degrees out so I chalked it up to just being cold. Then about a mile or two later when I stopped at a stop light. Noticed a shake, almost like it had a real hard cam to it it. I didn't have any codes. So I continued figuring maybe there's something in the injector I got on it a little bit (after it was warm) figuring I could maybe blow it out with more fuel demand. Got to work and shut it off. Came out that morning same thing, but on I got a code for bad #6 injector, so I cleared it figuring if it is a bad injector it would come back but it hasn't come back yet. I put some fuel injector cleaner in it and changed the fuel filters, which were almost black, and still same thing. So I'm wondering wtf the guy I got if from said he just had all the injectors replaced. It sounds like I told be a glow plug or an injector to me but I don't want to tear into the motor if I don't have to. Also anything above about 1500 rpm's I don't notice any shake or loss of power. Please help

i got a similar issue, except when you go to boot it, it clears up, no codes, bad injector or something dirty?

i put a high idle switch in mine just to let it idle higher and have been running injector cleaner. also after changing the fuel filters i noticed a little drop in the shake but it still shakes and bogs a little at stop lights. i was doing some research and some have been saying if it shakes it almost always an injector, and others say it could be the hpop both very expensive fixes.

Check batteries first, have them load tested, then test the FICM.

Sounds like a bad injector to me though. Did the previous owner show you any receipts to prove the injectors had just been done?

no but im going to get ahold of him and tell him to. if he didnt lie then they should be on some kind of warranty considering they were done less then 3 months ago. i tested my ficm previous to this problem and it tested good but that doesnt mean it couldnt of gone bad after the fact. it has one of the new high powered ficm's and i did some reasearch on them and they say its supposed to be a bad *** ficm.

Ok if you have a repaired FICM already the chances of it being bad are greatly reduced. There's a chance he did replace the injectors and used some crappy brand... like Pensacola or something. I hear horror stories about replacement 6.0 injectors.

yeah same here. i did talk to the dealer today and he said he sent it to ford to have them replaced. i dont know what the part number they used is, or even if their refurbs. im really kinda sweatin bullets. if i have to replace more than 3 im just going to go with a bigger injector anyways i plan on building up this motor a little anyways and deleting all of the stock problems this motor ever had. is it bad for the piston to run it on a bad injector? and is there anyway of telling if its a glow plug or an injector. i was behind my wife the other day and she was driving the truck i was watching some smoke come out of the stack on take off from stoplights and stop signs. to me that sounds like its leaning more towards a glow plug (unburnt fuel). i was planning on digging into it this weekend to test the injectr and glow plug

My buddy was having similar problem as you posted. I was watching this TV show and they showed an oil product called "hot shot secret oil" designed for just Ford trucks, so I told him about it and he was impressed. claimed the truck quieted down and he gained 4 mph. His dad even put it in a old ford farm truck and claimed to wake that truck up with over 300,000 miles on it.

They're all reman's, there are no new 6.0 injectors made anymore. Ford does have the best reman's though, since they replace the spool valve. The glow plugs would only be an issue for the first few minutes of run time. It could potentially have issues if you keep running it with a bad injector yes, but it would kind of depend on what is wrong with the injector. Poor spray pattern could lead to excessive heat.

As for just going with bigger injectors... there are no "aftermarket" injectors, all of the people who build them, use a Ford injector to start with, so if you have some that are actually bad, you're going to have to buy new Ford's to replace them, then send all 8 to the builder to get built. Make sense? A lot of the big names actually want you to buy 8 new injectors, then send them out to be built to avoid warranty issues. It's not cheap building injectors.

I would get injectors from Ford myself, since they also come with a 12month/12k mile warranty. Or if you do decide to get larger sticks, go here: Warren Diesel

Hot shots is supposed to be good too. Most of us use Rev-X, the vendors on here sell it. Also heard good things about the evergreen stuff.
