06 Smoke Switch
Just bought my 2nd 06 6L that has a smoke switch installed from the previous owner. The issue is that its only pushing 5psi max. What can i do to fix this and keep the switch?

Is the switch on?

Buy a new wire harness for the VGT solenoid and wire it in there then throw that "Switch" away.. It does nothing but stop the turbos job and wastes fuel.
Smoke isn't really liked around here and is kind of frowned upon as I learned, if you want smoke, buy an SCT tuner with custom tunes but having that is just unneeded. |
I won't lie. I like rollin' some coal after a rice burner tries to race me :choochoo:

The unavoidable smoke at spool up is exactly that, but to be puffing smoke just cause, pull your pants down around your sack, pull your boxers up passed your waist, and turn your hat sideways to complete the douche bag look.

If you want smoke, drop your compression, Add a 100 psi twin turbo set up and prepare to make it a puller. |
So it has a smoke switch, but it's only on 5psi? Sounds like you should turn the switch to the "off" position. All those switches do is tap into the VGT circuit and turn the control to the vanes off. So the vanes go open, you get no boost and tons of smoke. How cool.
Take it off.:nope: |
Mdub + Black smoke = :argh:

I dont want this truck to smoke at all cuz im going to be working in an "affluent" neighborhood, though i really wouldnt mind fogging the pesky lil mercedes always beeping at me and my trailer, but as of right now, it can barely budge it. No turbo = no go.

Check the wiring going to the VGT solenoid make sure the wires are hooked up. There's two wires... just make sure they're connected to the solenoid.
