Shorted out pto wire now cel on? Please help a newbie!
I just bought my first diesel a 2007 f250 cc swb lariat fx4 auto. So far I love it but I've been searching online for the high idle mod and I'm not sure if I did things right but I found online somewhere to use the solid orange wire to 12v then the park brake etc. well I tried this last night and some how shorted the wire on a ground post guess the temporary jumper I was using had a bare spot on it. Anyways after that the truck wouldn't start with the wire hooked to 12v and would die if given power while already running and the check engine light came on. I was hoping it was just do to the quick short so I disconnected both batts to reset the cel which worked but it came back on this morning when I started the truck. Any ideas before I try and find someone to use their code reader without paying for it?

Exhaust back pressure sensor circuit low input....
Might just be a coincidence, might not. The EPB sensor is on the drivers side of the truck. Look at the exhaust manifold, there is a stainless tube threaded into it, follow it up, the EPB sensors is there. Check out the wiring there. This should have nothing to do with your "short" but it may have done more than just this I suppose. I hate electrical crap.

Hopefully it's just a coincidence I just removed and cleaned the tube and sensor and they were both caked almost completely closed with soot. Reset the code and we will see what happens if it comes back I'll let y'all know. Thank you Mdub
No it's just doing the same thing as unhooking the batteries. I'm not sure why else that would keep coming on, but again I suck at electrical stuff.
It would be nice to put it on a GOOD scanner though and see if any more codes pop up besides that... you may want to read it again just to verify it's indeed the same code.
