Default Looking to build a 6.0 for a friend...

Anyone want to inventorize for me what we need for a 600whp'ish setup ?

I'm talking everything from motor parts to driveline parts...

I'm thinking.... Air Dog, Some Injectors, Some Turbo, Custom SCT LiveWire map... Transmission kit....

Am i missing something, and can anyone point me in the right direction concerning injectors and a turbo?... not a Ford guy... i'm a Cummins guy sorry for all the questions...

Usually when you buy stage 3 injectors, the website will give you all of the parts needed to run it, And I am sure you know to do an egr delete kit and arp head studs.

And I have heard a lot of good things out of the Powermax turbo.

That is my 2 cents haha, I am sure I didn't help but hopefully that'll help give you an idea of needed things when upgrading your injectors.

this setup just got track tested for 650hp
-AD2
-190/100 injectors Id go with warren or casserly
-MTW stage 3 turbo
-FICM/ECM custom tunes
-studs
-going to need a trans at some point
-egr delete if he doesnt have one

The guy ran a 12.5 in the 1/4 in a CCSB truck and adrian said it needs to be live tuned and it will be pushing higher hp numbers but prob not going to tow very well with that setup

I forgot to mention, we already have EGR deleted it, MBRB Dual Exhaust and it has a K&N 57i CAI...

Studs have also already been ordered...

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

Ok, for transmission mods..... would a Suncoast Custom 5R110 IRONpac-3 Kit do the trick ????

Got a link to this build somewhere? I would never have thought a 190 could support that kind of power.

What's the budget on this build? What's the truck used for? Does he ever tow with it?

Going to need at LEAST a 190/100 injector, fuel system, and a 66ish non VGT turbo. Though, MDW is doing some good things with their VGT frankenstein turbos (see the 650hp truck in the post above, the stage 3 turbo is a Mad turbo). Trans is going to be necessary on a 600hp truck. A single will work for a street truck but if he has to tow a lot, compounds will be much better.

I'd upgrade the valve train, go with a Colt cam, heavy duty pushrods (few companies make these, GoGo, Smith Bros, Hamilton), upgraded valve springs etc.

Just depends how much of a budget this is to be done on and how exotic he wants to get with parts.

For a fuel system, the hot ticket is a sump from the tank, feeding an AD150, feeding a fuel lab or A1000, running up to a y-block and then directly to the heads. A RR would be necessary too, IMO.

Ok, Head Gaskets... OEM or should i go with any aftermarket brand ?

Budget is unlimited as of now...

We're looking to spend as little though... and we're looking into taking this step by step...

Starting with ARP Studs #250-4202, Air Dog II & Sinister EGR Delete Kit

I'm still deciding for him if we should take Sinister Diesel SMC-BO18-6.0 Gasket Kit ?

After these precautions have been made, we can start to pick out a Turbo... or Turbos...

About the usage of the truck.... it is a street toy... occasionally sees the strip.... occasionally tows... it's a daily use truck... we don't want it to fail, so we will take all precautionary steps first before tuning anything...

I know i know, we did the Spartan Tunes... not safe, but it was just to give the owner a idea of what this is capable of...

As for the last question... it's a late 2005 6.0 PS...

High pressure oil side should be fine with 190's.

Stick with OEM gaskets only, the black onyx are notorious for failure. They're not the correct thickness.

I'm seeing mixed reviews on the AD2 now. I'd either run an AD150 feeding the stock pump (so you can get home if it fails) or feed it into a larger pump like an Aeromotive A1000, or a fuel lab pump. Much better pumps, and then a stand along regulated return setup.

What are you doing for gauges?

You're going to want gauges sooner than later. There is a bunch of other preventative stuff I would recommend before going any further. Such as a coolant filter, a coolant system flush, an oil cooler rebuild possibly, and with the 05, you're going to want the STC fitting update for the HPOP, and new stand pipes/dummy plugs.

MAD stage 3 Does it again::::1/4 times!! - Ford Powerstroke Diesel Forum

Believe me ive been skeptical of these new turbos but he finally track tested the HP and im a believer now, those 190s should push closer to 675 if I had to guess when it gets live tuned
