Default Low Power and P0263 / P0266

I got in my Excursion yesterday and after starting down the road I noticed that I had really low power. Seems like really bad turbo lag. It took much longer than normal, but once up to speed drove near normal. No excessive smoke and runs smooth most of the time.(There were a couple of stop lights where the idle wasn't as smooth as normal)

After driving a couple of miles I checked codes and didn't find any. (Using the SCT touch screen. I've been running stock tune for a couple of months now)

Came home and still no codes. When to my brothers house a couple miles away and then checked again when I got home. This time I got a P0263 and P0264. Seems odd that both that the codes were for #1 and #2 at the same time.

Today I cleaned and tightened all of the turbo boots. I have new boots from DieselSite. I also cleaned the EGR.

I'm due for fuel filter change on my AirDog2. I'll do that tomorrow.

I've heard the ICP could cause this, but when my ICP went bad before the engine didn't run well at all.

I have an AutoEnginuity that I can do more test with. Could you all give me suggestions on what to test?

Last year I lost the tip of an injector and ruined the motor. I've been running a reman'd motor for just over a year.

When this happened and while I was diagnosing the problem. The bad injector was leaking so much fuel, it was leaking out the exhaust pipe. This means the catalytic converter was full of Fuel. Could this have damaged the cat and now it's finally clogged? Can you check this without removing the cat? My cat is welded to 4" pipe so it's not easily removed. I'd be more than happy to cut it off if that's the only way to verify.

The cat looks similar to the grates on a grill, it's pretty free flowing. I highly doubt you clogged it.

How old are your batteries and have they been load tested at all recently? I would test the FICM too, to eliminate these two things.

Will AutoEnginuity give me reliable number for the FICM or do I need to open it and test? I replaced the FICM last year with one from Swamps.

Never hurts to test. AE can give readings, I prefer to just probe it with a multimeter, should only take 15 minutes, but you'll need an extra set of hands to turn the key.

I'd start with having the batteries load tested personally. They can give faulty FICM readings.

When's the last time the EGR valve was cleaned?? Could just be that too.

Well, I went to check the battery this afternoon and found the AirDog 2 was not making any noise. (Normally I can hear it when the key is in the on position) I haven't had a chance to chase it down yet, but I'm going to do that before I do anything else.

I'll keep you all posted.

Not the first time I've heard or read about an AD2 crapping out. Seems to be becoming a wildly popular thing...

So it ended up being the AD2.

Found a blown fuse under the hood. Changed the fuse, drove around the block, fuse was blown again. Changed the AD2 filter drove around the block, fuse still intact.

So seems like a really dirty fuel filter cause the pump to blow the fuse. The filter is about a year old with roughly 8,000 miles. It was due for a change, but I'm surprised that it completely choked off the flow. At least the AD2 filter is really easy to change...

I've read similar issues when they get clogged. It seems the AD2 is running at max capacity all the time...
