LOOKING TO MAYBE BUY A DIESEL EXCURSION,ANYBODY HAVE REAL WORLD MILEAGE FOR THEM?????

 

I just got 15.3 mpg on my last fill-up, hand calc'd, going from 500ft to 5000ft and back again pulling a 1000 lb snowmobile trailer empty.

 

15mpg is about average...

 

15 is norm... 16 on a good day

 

14 on average for me, not towing. my wife does a lot of street traffic and heavy freeway traffic. close to 16 on our trip to california at a high average speed (90-95)

 

My 7.3L gets 15mpg around town, Generally freeway mileage is about 18-19. I have seen 20mpg over a 700 mile trip but the terrain was flat most of the way. All unloaded mpg.

 

On the expressway I have seen 18-23 depending on conditions at 65-70mpm. I towed a car hauler with Acura RL yesterday and got 16mpg for a 150 mile trip at 65 mph. Around city traffic though that number drops down to 9-12 but we have killer traffic here.
