Default Running Ds on a 703 00 Exc

Is anyone out there running load range D tires on their Exc? I was just out cleaning up after putting new wheels and tires on the 00 Exc when I noticed that the tires that they just mounted were Ds and not Es. I ordered Es and will see what my options are from the tire store that I went through, but am wondering if I really have anything to worry about. I have a buddy that tried runing Cs on a 2500 Surbaban and had problems.

The Exc is a 7.3 4X4 that sees mild off roading but is mostly highway.

All depends on the tire if you ask me. I had bfgoodrich a/t and they were d rated and wore like garbagetread split only got 28,000 mile out of them b/s if you ask me. Took them to the store i got them from and they said it was normal for tread to split and pit. But of course they could sell me a new set. I have e rated now and they are night and day differance but could just be the brand.

Yea - pretty much have excepted the fact that I did not do enough homework before I bought the tires - If I had I would have discovered that I would have had to go to 305s to get load range E in the BFG ATs. Lesson learned.

Dont go by the load rating as much as the # rating. My Wifes Ex is on 37" toyo mt's that are D rated but in the 3800# each range...

Mine are E rated for the same size but 4200# each.

Your issue has nothing to do with load range, D's are fine as long as you're not overloading them.
