Hypermax Engineering Black Box

Hypermax Engineering Black Box
I bought myself a 2005 Ford Excursion with the 6.0 PSD in it. It was in really good shape and had most of the things I planned to do to any 6.0 excursion I was going to do at some point(ARP Head Studs, Coolant Filter, Banks air ram, transmission cooler).
One thing that I saw when I got the truck was that it has a little black box under the hood connected to the ECU with the words Hypermax Engineering on one side and a warning label on the other with two hand written numbers(1955, 3-17-04) and a warning about "Using this product without frequent exhaust manifold temp monitoring". It also has a cable running to under the dash connected to a three position switch.
I had expected that I would be able to go online and find out more about this box and how to uses it correctly, but I can not seem to find anything about it. I have emailed the company that I think made it to see if they can help, but I thought I would ask about it on here also to see if you guys had anything to tell me about it.
