Sad Knocking

My truck makes a weird knocking noise, I have a 5speed 7.3idi and it kinda sounds like the tranny but I'm not sure any suggestions? Please help also when I depress the clutch it also makes weird sounds

no need to. it is your flywheel coming apart. your 5 speed has a dual mass flywheel. either buy a new one(500bucks) or get a solid flywheel conversion for around 600.

sounds like flywheel to me too.... they are known for that kinda stuff..... best not to drive it or you'll end up needing a trans as well.... you'll destroy the input bearings all the torsional vibrations... thats why the dual mass flywheel is used on the aluminum transmissions .... they will last a bit longer with the dual mass than with solid.... i have heard arguments in both ways though....
