Default copper washers

i just replaced all 8 copper washers on my injectors today and they still suck air when i spray ether on them the engine revs up so i know there sucking air , i got them from ford so i they should be the right ones , but they looked like they had a flat side and a round side but i couldnt get them to stay on the nozzle could that be my problem, the washers looked a little small for how big the holes in the block were but i figured they would expand once flatened and heated any help would be appriciated im trying to nail this air problem before i put my turbo kit back on , we all know its hell to work on injectors with that thing on

did you clean the bores with a wire brush? what are you torquing the injectors to?
also put some water around the injector and test that way. ANY ether sprayed towards the engine will get sucked into it and make it rev up. normally the injectors wont pull air in, but will push air out(450+psi of cyl pressure)
