Smile IDI vs newer diesels?

Anybody on here love the older IDI's besides me? We have a 7.3 powerstroke dont get me wrong, it's a good engine, for me the powerstroke, dont have it as far as steady pullin power and endurance, mine is a 1990 f350,1 ton, bone stock 7.3 idi. How do they make glow plugs systems like for the 6.7 powerstroke, as soon as you turn the key ur ready to start? HOW???????

alot higher injection pressures. out fuel is injected at 1900 psi. the 6.7 is up around 30000 psi or higher.

IDI engines have the combustion chamber in the head so most of the heat during cranking is absorbed by the head into the coolant. That alone costs IDI engines 15% thermal efficiency compared to DI engines.
