Default new starter = problem

put in a new starter today and starts fine but the starter gear wont release from the ring gear, even went back and got a second one and same thing, replaced the fender selinoid last night thinking that might of been the problem but it was the starter
92 f250 7.3

EDIT=====problem solved misplaced a wire from the selinoid had the one to the alt on the wrong post (was working in the dark) must of been bleeding enough power to the starter to keep the gear kicked out

You can change the ground wire also. I had that problem with mine and it turned out to be the ground.
