rebuild 6.9
So I just picked up a 6.9 engine today for $200 and I plan on rebuilding it with a master rebuild kit. Originallyi was just going to rebuild the motor in my 84 f250 but I figure this way I can take a s long as I want and do everything the right way. Is there any tricks tips or things I should do while im in there? When the motor is done im then going to modify a 95 7.3 turbo to fit. Should I get lower compression pistons for that?

I am unsure. The tag from the valve cover is peeled off at the bottom where date would be. The only thing different from the motor in my 84 is that this one has a each sensor on the timing cover and a steel braided hose running from the block near the oil filter up to the top of the motor

sensor is a tach sensor, that braided hose is for the oil pressure sensor.
since it has the tach sensor, io am going to say it is probly a 85 or 86 model.
how much boost you planing on running?
Replace all bearings, have the entire bottom end balanced, heads checked and tested, block checked and tested. head studs, ceramic coated pistions.
