Removing 89 7.3ltr IDI Injector Pump
Hey guys, I am a gas mechanic, and have owned many diesels, i have a 89 F250 7.3 IDI, i need to remove the Injector Pump not to replace, just to remove, and put back in after iam done, can anyone tell me an exact step by step way of doing it so the timing would be the same, i know how to take off lines, etc, take off front cover to expose the gears, but can anyone please give me a step by step, on removal and putting back in, Please. Thank you very much. I know how to do it, but i just want to double check on procedure. Thanks

Never mind, i took care of it, for all that needs to know. make sure you mark the gear for the pump, disconnect fuel lines from injectors only, take out 3 nuts behind gear housing, take out 3 12pnt 5/16 bolts on gear, disconnect electric wires, throttle cable, return line hose, pull out when re installing, line up dowel with slot in pump , and screw on nuts, re bolt bolts on gear, re install fuel lines, electric lines, return hose, check everything, to prevent air lock, if new pump filll with diesel through triangle port on passenger side, where the allen nut for turning up pump is. and fire up, will take a while to purge all air, but will eventually start, use starter in 30 second pulses, let sit for 30 seconds try again, with throttle pushed all in. not the best description, but its the basics, any questions let me know, i can clarify.
