Default 86 Ford 250 6.9 7 & 8 cylinders

Bought the truck from an 89 yr old who drove it 20k miles in the last 20 years. He kept the truck in pristine condition. Everything new on it. It first drove great then started leaking fuel around the injectors. Replaced the orings and fuel lines. Started to blow blueish white smoke, using a lot of fuel and misses on acceleration at higher speeds. Took it to a diesel shop and they told my the cylinders were bad and want me to rebuild/replace the engine.

I live in phoenix and would like to keep the truck... Any ideas? Thanks, Jennie

The diesel shop could be correct......... But, have someone do a compression test on the cylinders before doing anything else. That will tell the condition of every piston.
