Default Turbo flange and down pipe

Just throwing out the idea of making my own down pipe and turbo flange. I currently work in a welding repair and fab shop. It sounds good in theory just wondering if anyone has tried to do this or is it just a bad idea? Or would it just be better to go buy it and not mess with it at all?

Say BVFD54:

been doing some searching here - I have the Banks 2.75" down pipe - its ok - ATS offers a 3" as does Hypermax - If I could I would fabricate one myself - but a good point you make - the room or lack of we are dealing with - unless you will body lift - purchase a pre fab is easy and less hassle - though is you are skilled , and up for it .....

the Banks I have is fine - though I have to say not an amazing piece - i hear the Hypermax is the best of the 3 - 130.oo plus shipping

cheers:
