just installed the ats non waistgated turbo i got for my truck it has the 6.9 in it now but im putting a 7.3idi in very soon. i was expecting a big jump in power but honestly it doesnt even seem worth the money... its definatly changed my upper rpm power but not even enough to get me on the freeway easly. the turbo is used and im not reallly sure how much boost im making but if for some reason i have a boost leak from the o rings would it be enough to really effect performance ? thanks mike!!

 

I know throwing a turbo on an IDI will help a little bit, but its not ever gonna make it a racecar. I want to say its probably making less than 10 pounds, but I'm not an IDI expert by any means. The leveling kit and bigger tires probably don't help the acceleration out any either.

Will switching in a 7.3 IDI make much difference?

 

that leak is an issue. also have you turned the pump up after putting the turbo on? if not ur not getting enough fuel.

 

The 7.3 I'm swiching to mainly because it's only got 60,000 on it and my 6.9 has alot of oil leeks And I got the 7.3 for cheep

Yes I did I turned it up 2 flats it smokes black when I get on it but that's it. Would you have any idea where I'd find an o ring kit ?

 

will have to call up ats. have fun. their customer service sucks.
