Default 7.3 exhaust

I have a 7.3 idi. I want to know if I was to put 4 in. exhaust on it would I have to get new headers? Cause it doesn't seem like it comes out of the manifold that big. If somebody knows anything please comment back. Thank you.

are u talking duals or not? if not, 3 inch is all u need for the motor to breathe good. true duals only need 2.5 per side.

there are no other manifolds available to make the outlet bigger.

stans headers does make long tube headers for the idi, for around 600 a set.

Oh okay.. Thanks man. Also, which one is better or is there no difference? Cause I really don't want the noise of true dual. Cause if I'm correct since it has no turbo it will just sound like a really loud gas burner.. Right?

if u put decent mufflers on it they sound prety good. this is stock y pipe into a dynomax bullet muffler into 4 inch stack. turn your speakers all the way up and it is still louder than that.

You live in San Angelo, I would call Brothers Automotive and get some info on your truck. Those guys are not diesel people (I could be wrong), but they do know the emissions laws in Texas. they are listed as an emissions testing facility. Chances are you might not have to worrie about it, for now. Texas is on it's way to adopting some of the same laws as California.

A cheap route is to yank one off an old semi. Got a 6" turnout stack about 48" long for $25. Looks brand new after a little cleanin!
