stuck in block
i finally got new injectors for my 7.3 idi.and i went out to take the old ones out and i got two and the 3rd one back passenger side injector wont come out shows 4 threads witch is almost out but wont come out i sat there for 10 min turnin the dam thing and nothing.tried prying it to but nothing .and it was hard as hell turning it that far the other ones just came rite out.
carbon build up. spray some pb blaster or alike down around the injector. let sit and then try again. also after it comes out make sure to crank engine over with IP unplugged to push out any carbon that might of dropped into the cyl.
Nothing but threads should hold it in place. They can unscrew in half sometimes but if it's just spinning and you're replacing it anyway, get some leverage and get it out of there. Pb blaster will help but this will need elbow grease!!
if it did happen to come apart(nozzle stays in head) dont worry. take the top half of the injector, grind the threads off. now thread it back into the nozzle and keep tighting. it will break the nozzle loose and come right out.
have no idea. never had one stuck like that before. hm.... i still say it is carbon buildup on the tip of the injector not letting it out of the hole in the copper washer, copper washer was crushed to the point of tighting around the tip. slide hammer with vicegrip end to clamp onto the injector?
well got the left side four in last night then ran outa light then today i did the right side but the third cyl back just like the left side the injector came in half so i got it out now i cant get that dam little copper washer out so save my dam life
any good tricks for that one.and its funny how on both side 3 cyl back the injectors were stuck in the block.
