Default Motorcraft Glow Plugs

Where's the best place to get Motorcraft glow plugs? Local parts stores only carry autolites, bosch, and ac delco. While I'm at it, should i go ahead and replace the controller and relay too so its all new? Should i get a Motorcraft controller and relay or does it matter what brand they are?

if i was going to buy all new for a 1985 if that is the truck you are asking about i would change to the newer 7.3l style gp's and controller. and no i wouldn't buy a motorcraft controller.

I've heard that before. What's better about the 7.3 style?

The newer 7.3 controller is a solid state system...not sure what that mean exactly but they are less prone to fail than the old setup. If you convert, than you need to get the controller and all asscoiated wiring including the harness that connects to the plugs.

Do you have an O'reilly store or checker/schucks/kragen nearby? These places can order you MC glow plugs. I just replaced 8 autolites in my 86 with new MC plugs. Five of the plugs I removed had swollen, one of them put up a real fight, I thought for sure it was going to break off in the head.

Thanks. I'm really hoping that mine doesn't have any autolites but since it was previously a farm truck, I'm willing to bet it does.

When you change them, would it be alright to use nickle neverseize on the threads?
