im mike i have a 1984 ford f250 with a 6.9 its 4x4 with a 4 speed manual 33in goodyear dura tracks with american racing rims. just did headgaskets on it and runnin great but one little problem. i had problems in the past with my oilcooler and i didnt have the funds to buy a new one so i got a used one well i think it sbad again i have oil in my coolent it drains abour 2 quortsof oil in about 500 mi into my radiator iv just been filling it and flushing everynow and then. i was wondering if anyone knows if i can get an oil cooler for under 500 bucks what international is asking for just the core. thanks mike

remove from engine, pull the alumium end caps off without cracking them(use soft hammer). remove orings. flush core out. wire wheel oring landings. flush cooler again. lube up orings with petroleum jelly. install on cooler. press end caps back on(DO NOT HAMMER THEM ON! WILL NOT WORK!) reinstall. u will make a mess removing the cooler, oil and coolant draing from block.
to press the ends back on is simple. but u say wait, i dont have a press. take a floor jack, stand cooler on end on top of the jack under your rear bumper or somthing else that wont move. jack up gingerly making sure u dont tear orings. will sorta "pop" into place. one end cap has a locating tab that has to be lined up. the other doesnt. once put back together, u can rotate that cap with not much effort.
help?
