Default Ok I know im bein a little race trading so to speak.

alright well i have a 7.3 idi with the garret blower on it and it runs fine blowes smoke the whole nine yards. however im looking for more power the fuel has already ben turned up n other than n intercooler i cant think of ne thing else to make it. looking for a 12 vavle for the truck. does ne one have ne input on wether it makes ne diffrence if i put a mechanicul cummins it or the newer 12 valve r they the same? one just has a blower? I know u can put a blower on the ntc but will it withstand the same numbers as far as power. I mean we all no that the idi wont n im sorry to say because i would love to leave the old girl as she sits. Ne input would be great please let me know what yall think. Thank u

So I called in some specialists to translate that. I think you are
talking about the Turbo when you say blower. All 12v cummins are mechanical. NTC is a big rig engine, all the cummins you would be looking at for that would already be turboed.

yes, all the cummins engines are turboed. all 12v are mechanical. if ur wanting power, look for a 12v that has the p-pump, found on 94-early 98 dodges, some of the bigger fords like the f-550, and school busses

I think you mean F-650 and F-750 but they also had an option for a Cat motor.

well at the moment cant afford a cummins so im just gonna stick with the ole coal rollin 7.3 for now shes still good for another 300,000 so ill b ok. one of these days man one of these days

im with you on geting a 12 but cant aford it ether

Did my swap for $3200, and after selling back some parts (old engine and tranny, donor truck rear end), brought it down to about a grand to a little over $2k. They can get expensive real quick, but if you do your own work and shop around and do you research, it is possible to do it fairly cheaper.
