Default 7.3 smoke

Hey everyone I bought a 93 7.3 idi turbo (139k an old man owned it so it wasn't beat on) it sat for two years! I was wondering why this thing smokes so bad? It had a dam near full tank I dumped some k100d in it changed the all filters it's getting better. What should I try next to stop the smoke

What color is the smoke?

White Smoke - unburnt fuel that has not combusted in the exhaust. Causes - broke lifters, bent pushrods, bent valves, stuck injector etc...

Blue Smoke - usually oil being burned in the cylinder. Causes - Low compression, cracked/pin holes in piston, worn rings, cavitation, etc...

Gray/Black Smoke - Partially burnt fuel. Causes - insufficent air, overfueling, the truck is chipped.

Your still running the same fuel that was in it when you parked it? If so that could be some of the issue, but for the most part it will smoke some on start up and when your romping it's very common for some blackish smoke as well. I'd make sure the check all the fluid levels. Top them all off and keep an eye on them to make sure it isn't eatin oil or water. Run a few tank fills threw and keep an eye on it.

I'd fill your fuel filter with ATF and then drive it like you stole it.
